The Religious Broadcasting and Television Advisory Committee (RBTAC) traces its origins back to before World War II when the Hong Kong Government and the mainline Christian Churches of Hong Kong worked out a means for religious broadcasting to be well organized and well produced. The Committee began as a broadly ecumenical group and has continued as such to this day. Two members are appointed by the Roman Catholic Church and four by the Hong Kong Christian Council (HKCC). Two of the HKCC representatives are from the Anglican tradition, while the other two represent Protestant denominations. The Chair rotates between these three groups, the present Chair being the Rev Dr John Illsley, Senior Minister of Methodist International Church, Wanchai. |
| The Committee works in cooperation with its Chinese Counterpart - the Religious Broadcasting Advisory Committee, Chinese-speaking. |

Rev Judy Chan, HKCC Executive Secretary for Communications, is the RBTAC producer. Over 600 programmes are aired under the auspices of the Committee each year with a broad spectrum of presenters, including Catholic, Protestant, Anglican and Orthodox speakers. [Sample links] |
