上主，萬國的主宰、我眾的大牧人，

我們身處香港，眺望西亞的穹蒼，看見殺戮器械遮蔽了天日，心中戰兢。當強權自以為能用毀滅換取安穩，以戰火衝破原本安穩的界線，我們懷著沉痛的心，來到祢的施恩座前。

 

求主憐憫祢的世人。

 

我們為過去這段時間消逝的生命哀哭，包括那些原本安在家中的家庭、被遣往異鄉戰場的士兵、以及街頭流血的示威者。我們特別記念在海灣地區的移工，這群離鄉別井的弟兄姊妹無奈身陷無情的戰火夾縫。主啊，當連鄰近國家也遭受襲擊，外交的橋樑陷於火海之時，求祢作他們的盾牌。

 

求基督憐憫傷亡者。

 

我們為手握利劍及步入權力真空的領袖祈禱。在此危急存亡的過渡時期，求主責備發動戰爭者的傲慢，並勒住各國報復的衝動。求祢粉碎以暴力換取安全的迷思，使領袖們回心轉意，放下全面戰爭的邏輯，踏上艱難但必要的對話之路。

 

求主賜我們智慧。

 

求主保護在戰亂中無權置喙的弱勢群體，那些被困的平民、無助的移工、以及無數活在恐懼中的靈魂。當穹蒼轉暗，願祢的教會如明光照耀，活出不以惡報惡的真理。

 

上主啊，求祢折弓斷槍，止息干戈。願祢的平安臨到硝煙的戰場，使生命得以存留。

🙏🏼 A Prayer for Breaking the Cycle of Vengeance

O Sovereign Lord, Ruler of the Nations and Shepherd of Souls,

We cry out to You from Hong Kong, watching the skies of West Asia darken with the machinery of death. When the powerful seek to trade destruction for safety, breaching borders once secure with the flames of war, we come before You with trembling hearts.

 

Lord, have mercy on Your world.

 

We mourn the lives extinguished during this time—families in their homes, soldiers sent to foreign battlefields, and protesters whose anger has turned to bloodshed. We pray especially for the migrant workers in the Gulf—our brothers and sisters far from home—now caught in the crossfire. Lord, when even the nations nearby are struck, and the bridges of diplomacy are engulfed in flames, be their shield.

 

Christ, have mercy on the fallen.

 

We pray for those who hold the sword and those who have stepped into sudden vacuums of power. In this fragile moment of transition, rebuke the arrogance of those who have launched this war, and restrain the impulse for vengeance in every nation. Shatter the illusion that security can be purchased with blood. Turn the hearts of leaders from the logic of total war toward the difficult but necessary path of dialogue.

 

Lord, grant us wisdom.

 

Protect the vulnerable who have no voice in this chaos—the trapped civilians, the migrant workers, and the countless souls now living in fear. As the skies darken, may Your Church shine as a light, living out the truth of refusing to repay evil for evil.

 

Break the bow and shatter the spear, O God. May Your peace descend upon the smoke-filled battlefields, that life may be preserved.
